1. Who we are
This website, bestalternativedigital.com (the “Website”), is operated by Best Alternative LLC, 1309 Coffeen Avenue, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, USA (“we”, “us”, “our”).
We are the data controller for the personal data described in this Privacy Policy. If you have any questions, or want to use any of your rights, email us at info@bestalternativedigital.com.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Website or buy our services, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what rights you have.
2. What personal data we collect
Data you give us
Contact form. When you send us a message, we receive the details you type in: your name, email address, your message and, if you choose to add it, your phone number.
15% coupon sign-up. When you sign up in the coupon window, we receive your name, your email address and which service page you signed up on.
Orders. When you order a service, we receive your name, email address and phone number (required on our order forms, so we can contact you about your project), the services you ordered, the price, any coupon code you used and the order number. The payment itself is handled by Stripe or PayPal (see section 6).
Project questionnaire. After an order, we ask about your project, for example your company name, website, business description, social media links, target industry, location and job titles. If you send us files (such as a logo) by email, we receive those too.
Emails. When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write or attach.
Live chat. If we offer live chat on the Website and you use it, we receive your chat messages and any name or email address you enter.
Data collected automatically
When you visit the Website, our hosting provider Cloudflare automatically processes technical data needed to deliver the pages and protect the Website, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time. Messages from our server (for example errors during a payment) are kept in Cloudflare’s logs for up to 7 days.
If you allow analytics or marketing cookies (see section 4), we also collect information about how you use the Website, such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the device and browser you use, your approximate location (country or city, based on your IP address) and how you arrived at the Website.
Payment card details
We never see or store your card number. Card details are entered directly on Stripe’s secure payment page or in PayPal, and are handled by them under their own privacy policies and the PCI-DSS security standard.
3. Why we use your data and our legal basis
To provide the services you order (taking payment, sending order confirmations, working on your project, contacting you about it). Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.
To answer your messages and questions. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or steps you asked for before entering into a contract.
To send you the 15% coupon and our newsletter, if you signed up for it. Legal basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with the “Unsubscribe” link in every email, or by emailing us.
To keep accounting and tax records. Legal basis: our legal obligations.
To keep the Website secure and working (for example, finding and fixing errors and preventing abuse). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe, working website.
To understand how the Website is used and to measure and improve our advertising, only if you allow analytics or marketing cookies. Legal basis: your consent.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Cookies and browser storage
Needed for the Website to work
The Website stores a few small pieces of information in your own browser (“local storage” and “session storage”). They are needed for the Website to work and stay on your device:
– your shopping cart (kept until you empty it or clear your browser data);
– a coupon code you applied (kept until you close the browser tab or complete the order);
– whether you have already seen the coupon window during this visit;
– a note that an order confirmation was already sent, so it is not sent twice.
When you use the PayPal button or Stripe’s payment page, PayPal and Stripe may set their own cookies, which are needed for secure payment and fraud prevention. These are covered by their own privacy and cookie policies.
If we offer live chat, the chat provider sets cookies needed to keep your conversation going while you browse.
Analytics and marketing cookies (only with your consent)
We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Website, and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Pinterest Tag to measure and improve our advertising on those platforms, including showing our ads to people who have visited the Website.
These tools set cookies and collect data about your visit. We will only turn them on after you agree in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time, and you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
5. How long we keep your data
Order and payment records: as long as tax and accounting laws require.
Project information and emails about an order: for as long as we work on your project and for a reasonable time afterwards to handle questions, warranty or disputes.
Contact form messages and other emails: as long as needed to answer and follow up on your request.
Newsletter and coupon sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data.
Server logs at Cloudflare: up to 7 days.
Live chat conversations: as long as needed to handle your request.
Analytics data: no longer than 14 months. Marketing cookies are kept for the time set by Meta and Pinterest, as shown in our cookie banner.
When data is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
6. Who we share your data with
We only share your data with service providers that help us run the Website and our business, and only as much as they need for their task:
Cloudflare, Inc. (USA): hosts the Website and protects it from attacks.
Stripe: processes card payments, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. Stripe Privacy Policy.
PayPal: processes PayPal payments. PayPal Privacy Statement.
Web3Forms: delivers the contact form, coupon sign-up, order and questionnaire details to our email inbox.
Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France): stores newsletter and coupon sign-ups and sends the coupon and newsletter emails. Brevo Privacy Policy.
Zoho Mail (EU data centre): hosts our email inbox info@bestalternativedigital.com.
Tawk.to (if we offer live chat): provides the chat window and stores chat conversations.
Google (Google Analytics), Meta Platforms (Facebook Pixel) and Pinterest (Pinterest Tag): only if you allow analytics or marketing cookies. Meta and Pinterest may also use this data under their own privacy policies.
Freelancers and partners who work on your project: they receive only the project details they need to do the work, and must keep them confidential and use them only for your project.
We may also disclose personal data if the law requires it, to protect our legal rights, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business. In that case we will make sure your data stays protected.
7. International transfers
Best Alternative LLC is based in the USA, and some of our service providers (such as Cloudflare, Stripe, PayPal, Web3Forms, Google, Meta and Pinterest) and some of our freelancers and partners process data in the USA or other countries outside the European Economic Area. Where EU data protection law applies, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
8. How we protect your data
The Website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal, never by our own server. Access to our accounts is protected by strong passwords and, where available, two-step login. No method of sending or storing data over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your personal data.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, and in particular if EU or UK data protection law (GDPR) applies to you, you have the right to:
– ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
– have incorrect data corrected;
– have your data deleted;
– restrict or object to how we use your data;
– receive your data in a common, machine-readable format (data portability);
– withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from our emails. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, email info@bestalternativedigital.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We will reply within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work.
California residents: we do not sell your personal information. If you allow marketing cookies, data about your visit may be shared with Meta and Pinterest for advertising; you can refuse or withdraw this at any time in our cookie banner. You may ask us what personal information we hold about you and ask us to delete it, by emailing us. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
10. Children
Our services are meant for businesses and are not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Links to other websites
The Website links to other websites (for example, PayPal and Stripe). We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their privacy policies.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If the changes are important, we will also tell you by email or with a notice on the Website.
